Fiberglass tubing, also known as silicone fiberglass tubing or fiberglass sheathing, is a special type of fiberglass sheath made by braiding fiberglass into a tube and then processing it through a high-temperature setting process. Fiberglass tubing is divided into silicone resin fiberglass tubing and silicone rubber fiberglass tubing. Silicone resin fiberglass tubing, also called silicone sheathing or self-extinguishing tubing, is made by braiding alkali-free fiberglass into a tubular shape, impregnating it with silicone resin, and then curing it by heat. Silicone rubber fiberglass tubing consists of a silicone layer and a fiberglass braided layer, and is divided into an inner silicone layer and an outer fiberglass layer.

The difference between silicone fiberglass tubing and silicone braided tubing

Silicone fiberglass tubing is a high-pressure-resistant silicone tubing primarily used in special environments. Manufactured under tightly controlled conditions and strict manufacturing processes, it does not release any odor or taste to solution media, making it ideal for drainage applications. Similar to reinforced or strengthened silicone tubing are silicone composite tubing. The difference lies in the outer layer: braided silicone tubing has a protective woven layer, while silicone composite tubing has cotton thread embedded within the tubing body.
