How much pressure can silicone- reinforced steel wire tubing withstand?

 

silicone- reinforced steel wire tubing varies considerably, with typical working pressures ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 MPa, while reinforced types can reach 1.0 to 3.0 MPa. Specific values depend on the pipe diameter, wall thickness, and steel wire structure, and cannot be generalized.

How much pressure can it normally withstand ?

1. General industrial grade : When the inner diameter is 5-20mm and the wall thickness is 1-3mm, the pressure resistance is usually 0.3-1.0MPa.

2. Reinforced steel wire tube : with built-in spiral steel wire or braided layer, the working pressure can reach 1.0 bar (0.1 MPa) to 10 bar (1.0 MPa), and some high-pressure types can reach 3.0 MPa.

3. Food and pharmaceutical grade : Emphasizing safety, with slightly lower pressure resistance, generally between 0.2-0.8 MPa.

What factors affect pressure resistance ?

1. Pipe diameter : The smaller the inner diameter, the stronger the pressure resistance. For example, a 13mm pipe can withstand 10 bar of pressure, while a 100mm pipe may only withstand 3 bar.

2. Wall thickness and structure : The thicker the inner adhesive layer and the larger the diameter of the steel wire reinforcement layer, the stronger the pressure resistance. The double-layer braided structure is better than the single-layer structure.

3. Fluid Media : Suitable for conveying low-pressure media such as water and fruit juice. However, if mistakenly used for machine oil or hydraulic oil, the pipe may swell and burst.
